Your professional photographer and guide will lead you through the location by snowshoe, exploring the rainforest, creek bed, and magnificent waterfalls on the bank of the Columbia River. Along the way you’ll photograph the vegetation, scenery, water, and one another as you learn new tips and techniques to level up your photography skills. Areas of teaching will include landscape composition, dealing with inconsistent lighting, close-up photography, environmental portraits, and understanding white balance. With plenty of time for questions, practice, and one-on-one instruction, you’ll head home with loads of Instagram ready photos and a tool bag of tricks for your next adventure!
Participants must have a camera with a manual mode and an adequate understanding of concepts like shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. You don’t need to shoot in manual all the time, but you should know how to and feel comfortable if told you have to. Feel free to bring extra equipment like a tripod, ND filters, and a variety of lenses, but remember that you’ll have to carry everything in your backpack.
If there is something specific that you would like to learn, leave a note when you sign up and we will make sure to cover it!
